Regarding slow shutdown, I'd start with uninstalling Spybot altogether.

    Then...
I recommend, you unistall Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is a resource hog, and install FoxIt Reader: http://www.filehippo.com/download_foxit/, which is much smaller, and faster. It does very same thing.
Make sure, you run "custom" install, and opt out from installing any extra toolbars.

Now, let's disable couple of unnecessary startups (no actual programs will be removed).

Re-run HJT and checkmark following items:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {3CA2F312-6F6E-4B53-A66E-4E65E497C8C0} - (no file)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Adobe ARM] "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ARM\1.0\AdobeARM.exe "
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DivXUpdate] "C:\Program Files (x86)\DivX\DivX Update\DivXUpdate.exe" /CHECKNOW
    O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-19\..\RunOnce: [mctadmin] C:\Windows\System32\mctadmin.exe (User 'LOCAL SERVICE')
    O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-20\..\RunOnce: [mctadmin] C:\Windows\System32\mctadmin.exe (User 'NETWORK SERVICE')
    O4 - Global Startup: OnlyWire.LNK = ?

    Click "Fix checked" button.

After making all those changes, restart computer and see how it goes.

OK, All done. Thanks for the help. You are the man. I do appreciate your time and help so very much.

I do not use Adobe normally. I have used Foxit for ages. I only use adobe for one subscription I have that will not read with anything else. Security reasons and all that stuff I guess Foxit cannot meet so no one else can access it.

We shall see how this runs now. Sorry to trouble you again. I had hoped we would never meet like this again.

    Take care

Hi Broni, Yes I is here and was just thinking I needed to let you know everything seems to be working fine. I do have a qwerstion though. Every so often my internet window seems to close for what ever reason and the troubleshooting mode has to go in and fix it. Is there any particular reason this should happen?

Thanks so much for your help and checking up on me. You are the best.

I'm glad to hear good news :)
Then, it's not too good to just leave a topic for several days without knowing me what's going on and running final steps.
Which browser are you having problems with?

    Now....

    Your computer is clean :)

    1. We need to reset system restore to prevent your computer from being accidentally reinfected by using some old restore point(s). We'll create fresh, clean restore point.

    Turn off System Restore:

    - Windows XP:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Right-click the My Computer icon, and then click Properties.
    3. Click the System Restore tab.
    4. Check "Turn off System Restore ".
    5. Click Apply.
    6. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click Yes to do this.
    7. Click OK.
    - Windows Vista and 7:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Right-click the Computer icon, and then click Properties.
    3. Click on System Protection under the Tasks column on the left side
    4. Click on Continue on the "User Account Control" window that pops up
    5. Under the System Protection tab, find Available Disks
    6. Uncheck the box for any drive you wish to disable system restore on (in most cases, drive "C: ")
    7. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click "Turn System Restore Off" on the popup window to do this.
    8. Click OK

    2. Restart computer.

    3. Turn System Restore on.

    4. Make sure, Windows Updates are current.

[SIZE= "4"]5. If any Trojan was listed among your infection(s), make sure, you change all of your on-line important passwords (bank account(s), secured web sites, etc.) immediately![/SIZE]

    6. Download, and install WOT (Web OF Trust): http://www.mywot.com/. It'll warn you (in most cases) about dangerous web sites.

    7. Run defrag at your convenience.

    8. Read How did I get infected?, With steps so it does not happen again!: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic2520.html

    Is computer doing OK?

    I assume, you use IE8?
    Try to reset it.
Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab, click on "Reset" button.
    Restart computer.

    Any other problems beside Firefox?

Close Firefox. Go Start>All Programs>Mozilla Firefox, click on Mozilla Firefox (safe mode). Use it this way for a while and see, if you still have problems.
