Resolved Black screen with cursor at start up. How do I resolve this?

    That's just the Action Center icon and if you click the icon, it will tell you if you have any new notifications.

    When the computer first boots up, the Action Center icon will show the circle with the line through it and after the computer has finished loading all of the other startup programs, the icon will change to a square text box.

    Oh ok. So should I be doing anything else to try and resolve my black screen issue?

    Well, just keep the computer in a clean boot state for the time being and see if the black screen issue occurs.

    I need some of the services when I use the PC but if I'm not using it I'll experiment with it. Thanks for your help. Of course I got the black screen this AM.

    I have not seen the black screen and cursor at boot up either in normal mode or clean boot mode since my last post. I'll close this thread and reopen if it reoccurs. Thanks for all your help Evan.
