everything is going ok, it boots up just fine. It's going to take a while to re-install all the apps and drivers, but in the end, things look like they will be ok.

    Thanks again!

(it took at least 5 minutes to get up the nerve to press 'y' for the last time when using FDISK)

Did you use the steps I gave?

    Hit any kinks?

    Mike

Make that chicken enchiladas ala Luke` She's one fine little cook! I did slip a Coors in on the sly though.

I'm glad to hear the good news. I think I'd still sell them a new HDD just for safety sake. I never trust a dog once it bites me.

    :)

One last step is to re-install her accounting program and point it to the data folder. Neither of us knew how to set it up, but the company that sold the accounting software will be calling us up on Monday to get it all going again. I don't anticipate any problems there, but then again, that accounting program was the whole reason this computer was so important, so the way things have been going, who knows.

Anyway, I think she'll be a lot happier with a stable Windows 2000 than with 98--which was really giving her problems. I'm headed home.

    Thanks
