CreateCD has nothiong to do w/ Roxio or Nero, it's a standalone application. Running it should not execute Nero or any other burning application, unless you already have a burning suite installed and it has a program called CreateCD too.

The cmd file should be located in a directory with the CreateCD app else you will have to edit the path to CreateCD in the line:
    start CreateCD -r:F -s:4 -v C:\Backup\Data\*.*

For example, if the cmd file is at C:\ and CreateCD is located in My Documents/CreateCD/CreateCD.exe, then the line needs to be:
    start %UserProfile%\My Documents\CreateCD\CreateCD -r:F -s:4 -v C:\Backup\Data\*.*

    OK Sports

I now understand how you "installed" CreateCD so quickly and without issues.

It's because you weren't installing the CreateCD that I thought you were.

I thought you were installing Roxio CreateCD. They have a CreateCD also (actually I thnk it is called something else now in newer versions of Roxio but for years was CreateCD) it is their packet writer like INCD is the packet writer for Nero.

Appearently Tony posted only the example line, then edited it to a code box with other info and that was on page 1. After that I was going directly to this page, I only saw his edit on page 1 of this thread last night.

    See
    http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/createcd/

In order to get that CreateCd you would have to install the Roxio Suite and if this was done without un-installing Nero you would have a mess.

I was unaware of this utility by Alex Feinman tho was aware of him and ISORecorder.

It is not a packet writer and uses Window Imapi underpennings.

It is an execellent tiny utility runs and exits unlike a packet writer. A very good way to do what you are doing.

The main reason I am replying is to advise others that may want to use it.

A lot of us turn off XP Imapi if we are using Suites like Nero etc as it is not needed by them. Actually some of them turn Imapi off when they are installed. So if it is off, to use this CreateCD it would need to be turned back on.

Vista has an enhanced version of Imapi and is handled differently as there is not an Imapi service showing up in Services. CreateCD ver 3 is for Vista. It will run on XP with SP3 beta or KB932716 which is the Image mastering API.

Good luck and I am glad I found CreateCD also.
