Investigators posing as Apple customers have told a court they were given misleading information about devices previously serviced by third parties.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) began legal action against Apple in April.

It alleges that Apple "routinely refused" to repair devices disabled by an error if they had previously been fixed by an unauthorised provider.

Don't have that problem with Samsung - only if the phone is 'rooted' does it negate OTA updates. If you've rooted the phone, it's generally because you don't want the "bloatware" that is supplied by the manufacturer. Apple require a certain "key" code input to reset the phone when any repairs are carried out. Way too much control for me. I'll stick with my S4 running Android 7 Nougat - works great! :D My batteries don't set alight to this model so as long as LTE 4G works I'm right up to date.;)

Have never really liked Apple phones. I use Android phones & am happy with those. They are also 100% compatible with Windows machines unlike Apple where you have to download all type of c-r-a-p for the phones to work.
