Active Antivirus soft has infected my computer

No, I can't remove the file and no, I can't bring up task manager.

 

Do you have another pc available to you?
I am thinking that you can remove the infected hard drive, connect it to the good pc and run MBA-M from the uninfected pc to remove the infection that way.

 

I got rid of antivirus soft and this is how I did it:

I went into my windows\system32 and renamed taskmgr.exe to iexplore.exe. That allowed task manager to work. I then stopped the sftav.exe process.

This allowed me to update and run Anti-Malware. That took care of my problem! YAY!

This is the current HJT log. I need to mention that I deleted 2 logs on it that had the virus. Don't remember exactly the files, but they both ended in sftav.exe.

MBA-M needs to be updated and re-run. You also need to update your Java as a lot of malware comes through the older versions.

• Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Software icon > add/remove programs.
• Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )
• Select it and click Remove.
• Then Download and install the newest version from here:
• http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

There is no option to clean/disinfect, however, we need to analyze the information on the report.


To obtain the report:
Click on: Save Report As (above - red blinking arrow)
Next, in the [color= "Navy"]Save as [/color]prompt, [color= "navy"]Save in[/color] area, select: Desktop
In the [color= "navy"]File name[/color] area, use KScan, or something similar
In [color= "navy"]Save as type[/color], click the drop arrow and select: Text file [*.txt]
Then, click: Save
