i tested counter spy for a while and it seems to always take a lot of resources. all the time. so i recommend either spysweeper or spyware doctor.

when a clients buys a dell system from me i try to put enough free programs on their machines to protect in most cases. i have learned especially with the client base i have that you can put to many programs on and then they just ignore doing them or they forget. even my business clients arent the best at doing what i tell them even tho i rename the icons to tell them what to do. i always put these special icon in the top right of the display separated from their other icons but almost every time i go back to visit them they are mixed with the other icons which means they end up not doing them.

guess its just a never ending battle. going to implement the sa advisor because it doesnt really need much attention from the user. personally i use comodo and antivir plus others but when i install a firewall for someone i have been installing pctools firewall. its a little more user friendly than comodo and been doing the new avg8 much better than their 7 version.
