Good news! Hope you get the RAID up and going soon.

I just got a new 8X to swap my old 4X into my kids machine. Like Dale442 and johanna says, I can't notice a difference. You may wish wait and see if you come across any of the brand new games that may (?) require 8X. My kids got some new games and I needed the new card now, but next motherboard I get will probably have the new PCI Express card, wish I could have waited...oh well...just some more redundency :D... and a few hundred bucks :( .

If you can hold out until you really need the 8X you may find better, faster, more powerful and cheaper cards are available.

Been waiting for a price drop on one card over at bestbuy. Going to check
tomorrow. I really can't see paying over 200/250 for any card.

My card is now 2 years old and getting kinda dated and starting to show
signs when i get new drivers like 61.77 etc.

If the price has dropped, i'll probable get it. The newer cards will always
be out of my price range. Specially when there are plenty more boy toys
i would also like to get.

    thanks,

Thought you may not be able to wait :D

The new breed of cards seem like a fair jump in technology. Installed an nVidia 5950 for my friend and he is very happy (pumps out some heat though). I like Radeon cards myself and this new card is having no problems at all (trying to get the old 4X card installed on the kids computer has been a little harder :) ).

If you don't want that Ti 4200 any more I'll send you my address :D
