    Very interesting information re Ad-Aware 6.
    I would like to know if I must uninstall version 5.0 before d/l and installing 6.0? I have a Pentium 133 running 98SE and liked 5.0 very much. Just like to be careful and not sorry with updating programs.

    Thanks much for any help. :eek:

    Just read the answer on another thread. However, can I run 6.0 whenever I want and not have it doing scans on its own?

    Ann--Yes, you should uninstall AA5 before installing AA6. You get the download here
    http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/
    You will have to chose which version you want. The Personal version is still free.
    If I remember correctly there is also a link to FAQ's to give assistance in installing and configuring.

    As you can see from the last link, Lavasoft runs a forum where you can get lots of help.

    Awww geesh! Is it really time to update this again? Seems like I just downloaded the new version and it's latest reference files.

    Ok. UNinstall 5.0......INstall 6.0. Will that install automatically give me the latest reference files?

    Using Ad-aware 6.0 Personal version Webupdate manually:

    To use the Webupdate module manually, open Ad-aware, click the 'Open WebUpdate' link (the globe/magnifying glass icon second from right) at the top right of the Ad-aware interface, and then click 'Connect'.

    If a new 'Reference file' is available or if it is up-to-date, Ad-aware notifies you immediately.

    Hello,To all

    Now if anyone needs to have a look here

    You can download the file from:

    http://www.lavasoft.de/ls/reflist.zip

    Unzip the folder and place the file inside in your Ad-aware 6 folder.
    Then choose "OK" when asked to overwrite it.
    If you would like a backup of the previous reference file, simply rename it before moving the new one in.

    if anyone happens to have a problem with the
    Webupdate Tool i hope not hehe
