Is there a way to activate the Administrator account in Windows 7 without logging in?

Hi Alex. There are ways you can enable the hidden Administrator account but to activate it, you do have to log into it.

I assume you already enabled the account correct?

No, the primary account is corrupt and I cannot log in. I was hoping for a way to activate the Admin account so I could then get in and create a new account, delete the corrupt one.

I have an image from a couple of months back; I guess I'll use that.

See if the administrator account is enabled when you boot into Windows 7 using Safe Mode.

The administrator account should be enabled there.

If the administrator account still is not enabled in Safe Mode then follow the instructions here, Windows 7 - Built-in Administrator - Enable from WinRE.

The admin account is disabled by default in Win 7.

You have to go to a CMD prompt via run as admin and then type:

    net user administrator /active:yes

Course, you have to be insides Windows to do this.

That command can also be run from the Safe Mode with Command Prompt (press F8 while restarting the PC to get to the Advanced Boot Options).
