    No. Its NOT dual boot. You always boot into Win 7 & then start Virtual PC to access Win XP. You can't boot directly into Win XP.

    You don't need to upgrade to Ultimate only to run XP in virtual mode. If you have an unactivated copy of XP, you can download & install Sun/Oracle VirtualBox & install XP/2000/Win98/Linux under it. No problems.
