Hi....I have a mutiboot computer with XP, Win7 and Win8. I also have a 3terabyte storage disk. The 3 terabyte is useable with win7 and win8 but will not show in XP. Is there any way to make XP see the 3 terabyte HD? The computer is a i7 with 8 gigs of ram.

Most of the info I find claims XP can not address a larger then 2 Terabyte drive. That is not true, I have two of them and one does work in XP. It's a Sea Gate, my other one is a Toshiba which I have not been able to get addressed yet. So, why is it that Sea Gate works? There must be code on it that XP uses.

Not trying to boot from it, it's just a storage unit. Like I said I have a 3 terabyte HD from seagate it my XP can address all of it. No so with my Toshiba.

Hi cold iron, It would help us to help you if you took the time to fill in your System Details in UserCP. Before you close after entering your comps details, scroll to the bottom and SAVE.
Why did you write to Seagate for info when you state your Toshiba HD won't work? Neil.

Ij50, we can't search for help if the member won't provide the necessary details. My crystal ball hasn't fired up for the New Year yet.
But if I had a Toshiba hard drive - I would seek info from Toshiba! Neil.

retiredlearner You are 1000% correct. Mine got a CBOD(Crystal Ball Of Death). I think it needs another fan.

Hi...I filled out the spec sheet. The Toshiba HD works, in win7 and win8, what I am working to do is make XP Pro addrress it as well. As I posted it is possible since my Seagate 3 Tera works in XP. I did explore Toshiba for a fix but they never gave me any info. It's just a little challenge.
