There will be no changes in the immediate future - IE8 is final. Offered via Windows updates I would guess in a month or two selectively.

Chas Windows 32 bit will see only ~3.3 - 3.5 Gb RAM, thus installing 4 Gb gives you the max RAM possible. With 64 bit systems 128 Gb or more...
