In short - if your BIOS and XP cd can see the SATA drive to do an installtion - you're good to go and shouldn't need to do anything else.

Nero should have a Copy CD option....It will prompt you when to take out the original cd and put in a blank...

A few specs of dust inside the drive could be the cause....A few specs of dust inside the floppies could do it too. Try reading the contents...
I tested and can't change the default either. Must be a glitch with Outlook.
Look in Control Panel->Regional Settings->what Country is listed there?
The pc Must have an option in the BIOS to be able to boot off an external drive. Most newer mobo's will do this.
