I don't use FF but you should be able to drag the Url from the Address line to your desktop.
If you slipstream SP2 to your XP cd the problem will go away and you can create one large drive if needed.

I would open the case and look to see what type(s) of drive connection it has....The manual and or HP's web site could also provide the info.
You'll have to click the View Button and change to Detail view and then select the Name column to get them to re-sort.

No Word wouldn't want to format the floppy. I bet you get the same error if you try to look at the files via My Computer.
The message would indicate that either the floppy disk is dirty/damaged or the floppy drive is.
What happens/doesn't happen when you try to open the files in Word?
