In device manager select "Disable" instead of uninstall..

Or you could probably go into Folder Option and "Hide" system files..
Have to ask - how do you wake up the machine? After it goes to sleep - how long does it take before it wakes up? Do you have all applications...
What type of drive is it? Is it an Internal or an External drive? If you right click on and select Properties - does it show the information?

Right click on the Setup file and select "Run as Admin "
A "CLOUD" drive is just that... When hooked up via the Ethernet cable it'll be assigned an IP address and can be accessed by computers all over...

James - did you ever try adjusting the clear type?
Does it happen to every email or just emails from one person that might be adding something?
A new AC Adaptor could be as low as $65 ... A repair to the power jack might be even less... A new mobo - probably too much $$.
Go garage sale shopping and get a working fax machine for five bucks... Do you have a printer with fax capabilities?
So this is a laptop.... and are they using the original power adaptor that came with the machine?
Did you look through ALL of the settings. Odds there's an option to disable that.
