the fujitsu disk utilities won't boot up i can still access files and most things on that reatogo xpe cd.. what can i try?
so put the recovery cd back in and tried fixmbr and fixboot, and reboot, same problem.. i was having good luck with the tools on the otl xpe cd.....
so far first 2 will not run.. just keeps rebooting..

it says the parameter is not valid.. it said xp home and this was xp pro... and i put a space after chkdsk /f /r right?
can i run chkdsk from the cd?
I meant pro was working a week ago, not recently.. no safe mode, no restore, no dos prompt.. so reloading xpe cd again..
i am running the reatogo xpe cd with windows now so can do alot, just not sure what to do..
i also accessed some files and got them off the hard drive, that otl cd worked great.
its xp pro and i went to system folder from the xpe cd and search for boot.ini i copied it to the thumb drive. this comp had xp home when it...

boot.ini does not look like any others i have seen all day today.. i was going to try and make a copy but had a hard time getting it to the usb..

sorry i meant 3 partitions, NOT 3 hard drives..
as per last post, i did look at hard disks and there are 3, C,D & E. so am I missing a #2 partition?
most of the searches here say fixmbr or boot.ini or fixboot? i can find boot.ini and it says partition 1 and then next line is partition 3.......
and this is a fujitsu N6200 laptop with win xp pro os
