Short answer - is that you'd want to modify the default Word Template which can normaly be done via the File Save As function...Look in the help...
I think you'll have to uninstall and reinstall OUTLOOK. You should see an option early on about what "type" of connection to make.
Am sure someone here can assist with the DNS resolution issue if it gets down to that.
