If the card won't allow more then a certain amount - I would consider it broken. What else could it be;)

You probably don't have to do anything. Uninstalling "shouldn't" touch your .pst file. But to be on the safe side just make a copy of the file.

Maybe a dust storm blew in and dirtied the heck out of the lenses in the drives.
