You can not install XP on top of Vista and keep all the current apps. You also need to verify that you can XP drivers for all of the hardware....

You don't have to export... I'd copy the pst file to a usb and then import it to the main computer.
File->Options->Advanced->EXPORT which also allows IMPORT. You can import contacts and emails that are in a different pst file that currently...

The account info is not inside the pst files. You have to add them manually.
