Odds are it's doing it for a reason;) When you do a File->Save As, what does the "Encoding" say? Is it set to ANSI or Unicode?
Does the back arrow work on most sites? Sites can be designed to NOT Allow back buttons etc. Its a sneaky way to keep you on their site longer.
