Oh I almost forgot. Is the workstation XP SP2? If the windows firewall is turned on by default it blocks port 123. (SNMP Service)
Check your Error Logs on the sever. Make sure your Workstation is pointed to the server for DNS.
right or wrong I dont defrag at all in XP. It handles that on its own. Or, it's supposed to.
