check bios' boot order. u'r not booting to the CD installer. i'd bet u'r boot order lists hard disk as 'first' ... many do i'd avoid u'r xp pro...

not entirely sure what the problem is ... it reboots at startup? anyway ... where is the HP disc? try a repair install
from my observation, they appear to be 'cached' copies. so once u move them, they become phantoms. they sill 'appear' to be there but if u select...
if u've the option, take the disk out and place it as slave in another system (u'r old one?) and then u can 'take ownership' of all on that disk...
the only issue to me is that when i see a situation like this ... i leads me to think that this isn't the only thing wrong ;)
where'd ya move em to? create a folder c:\t1 and move them there. then test. should also ask if u rebooted after move? try that first
u CAN get it working now ... by using the dell as a router ... it's a bit complex tho. in any event, u can PM me here and i'll send ya an email...

move them out of mypics folder basically. the default locations for possible is windows and mypics. i DO believe u can just create a sub folder...
check w/ verizon as u'r current dsl modem MAY already be able to route FOR u. eg - ask them if this modem has routing functions or just read it's...
best advice = ignore it or stop running reg scans ;) ... it will do no harm
u would have to have winxp on the machine that IS connected to u'r cable/dsl/what_have_u - do u have a highspeed connection - i'm not even sure...
