In my experience running CAD/CAM programs for over 25 years, Windows XP Pro x64 has been massively less troublesome that this Vista garbage....
Since i do not use or have a Linux CD, that won't work. Again, any other USB device works fine on all USB ports. Obviously not a hardware issue...
