Aspire 5100-3019 optical drive what was the oe optical drive that came with an acer aspire 5100-3019?

yes, i tried that a couple times, same result.
the draw does open and close. LED light works, and it spins. i dloaded the driver and it said device not recognized. so im guessing its some kind...

well i dont have an advanced tab, but under the info tab the hard drive is there under ATAPI, but the CD drive is not. i guess its a different issue?
i dont see an IDE config in the BIOS
i moved up the CD drive to the 3 spot, but still no luck.
My Phoenix BIOS version is 3.13, and i saw nothing about CMOS anywhere
