Windows 10 slow internet speed

Hi mary651, You will get variations of Internet speed due to "traffic" (other users) and time of day. School holidays usually cause more traffic on line.
I do think that the 9 year old comp is your biggest stumbling block trying to run W10. I made the big decision to keep up with Windows newest version and literally dumped all my old comps and built new ones with new hardware including SSD's. My wife hates changes, so I moved her from XP to W8.1 first and then introduced her to W10 last August (2016).
She loves how quick the comp starts from pushing the button (25 seconds to Desktop) and we do have fibre-optic (ultra-fast broadband). If you are still on copper wire with your ISP, you will be unable to get "real" fast Broadband. Just follow Evan's help and I hope you get a quicker response time.
