I've been having this issue for a while now, it usually happens after restarting my computer. It will go to 100% CPU and say Google Chrome is the cause so I close it but then the next item in the task manager goes up now. Usually it stops after repeatedly closing stuff like WMI Provider Host, and stuff like Service Host: Network Service, It always is high and I feel like its because of the DNS Client. My issue will usually stop after like 40 mins of closing them over and over and once it stops my CPU goes down to about 8-10% and it wont do it again until i restart my computer.

Hi crazygameguy, Welcome to WindowsBBS. :) Have you tried uninstalling Chrome to see how the CPU reads?

Hi crazygameguy, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

Lets see what is starting up with your machine.

Please download Autoruns. After you download the zipped folder on your desktop, right click the zipped folder and click Extract All. After the folder has been extracted open the regular folder. Run the autoruns.exe program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator. When you open the program, click the Logon Tab and then post a screenshot of all the startup entries on the Logon Tab in your next reply.

Also please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions.

Did you remove the entries that I told you to remove in Autoruns? Can you post a new Autoruns screenshot so I can see the changes that you made?

If you did remove those Autoruns entries in my previous post then try Performing a clean boot in Windows and see if the CPU usage goes to 100% on startup again.

If its still the same behavior then follow steps #15-25 in my guide and post the requested logs here in your next reply.

I did a clean boot, it started up and ran at about 90% then slowly went down to 70% after a few mins now down to 3-5% CPU

In the System Configuration window on the Services tab check the hide all Microsoft services checkbox to show the 3rd party services that are disabled. Take a screenshot of that window and post it here in your next reply.
