Since the latest update last week, Windows 10 is rebooting itself on a daily basis. This is not following a further update as there have been none. Is this something Microsoft has bulit in to the latest update? If so, is there a way to disable this feature.

If this is a bug, is there a fix for it.

Microsoft has not changed W10 to intentionally force daily reboots. So I can only assume something is wrong with your system like malware, power, failing RAM, heat, or some installed program is doing it and I would suspect a security program after a scan in that case

Is it rebooting while you are using it? Or when you are idle? Have you looked in Event Viewer for any errors?

Type eventvwr.msc into the Run box and press Enter
    or
Right-click or tap and hold the Start icon. Choose Event Viewer

I ask again, is it rebooting while you are using it? Or when you are idle?

For the first time since this started, it happened when I was using it. It isn't a forced reboot; it is a BSOD. The BSOD message is "Driver State Power Failure ".

Now I have had these before and gone through every device in device manager and tried to update the drivers but they are all up to date.

Is there any way to diagnose what device and driver is triggering the BSOD.

As Bill posted look in Event Viewer.

Alternatively debug the dump file following the instructions posted here and post the log in this thread.

Alas, I had already looked in the event viewer and there is nothing there that suggests the cause but that may be that I don't know what I am looking for.

Unfortunately, the Windows net Framework.4 keeps crashubg on installation.

Try a simpler route - download BlueScreenView and see if that throws up the culprit.

When you get the BSOD is the file causing the issue noted at the bottom of the blue screen?

The mention of the BSOD is a very important piece of the puzzle. Did you google-> Driver State Power Failure

And see the large amount of articles and suggested fixes?

The culprit seems too be ntoskrnl.exe which seems to be quite common but I am still no further ahead. I have now disabled Windows tips which I found as a suggestion on one web site but other than that, as I believe my drivers are up to date, I don't see what else.

I wiill try it for a day or 2 with the tips disabled and see what happens.

It might be worth uninstalling the latest Windows update (KB 3194496) and letting MS reinstall it in due course.

BTW your System Details would appear to be out of date.

Hope I am not anticipating too much but no BSODs for 2 days. What seems to have solved it is that I downloaded and ran a registry cleaner. Hope it holds.

If that is the the solution, I haven't a clue what conflicts arose as a result of the latest Windows update to trigger the BSODs in the registry
