For some reason the past month my win+x key stopped working and the right click on the start menu does not work. Not sure how long this has not worked but all my searches have yielded no success on the forum nor on google or Microsoft, none that actually fix my problem. I do notice that the screen will blink when I attempt to use the command but that is all it does. I have scanned for virus and malware too and remove all installed programs. Seems petty but I don't want to reset to fix this. I welcome any suggestions.

Yes I have already done this to try and fix the win+x problem and with a clean boot and it created another problem. While disabling the synaptic pad on the laptop then performing the clean boot then re-enabling it now it won't work at all. Not like I need it anyway, it actually did me a favor. Yes all the drivers are "working properly ". This kinda reminds me of win 98 or was it ME. ;)

I will have to give partial credit to my 9yr old granddaughter who noticed on her user desktop that the right click on start button worked. So I then compared the shortcuts in the WINX folder and noticed that the attributes were different. Hers was A and mine was AH. So I went to the General tab and noticed by Attributes that the box next to Hidden was checked. There are three folders in the winx folder Group1, Group2 and Group3. After unchecking each shortcuts hidden option the Search worked on the right click. So I rebooted and voila they all worked except the Command Promt shortcuts.

    Users\#username#\Appdata\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Winx

Edit; Right click taskbar select properties under Navigation tab I un-checked the box for Corner Navigation, Replace Command Prompt with Windows PowerShell in the menu when I right click the lower left corner or press the Windows key+X. THis Brought back the Command Prompt.

    Thanks guys.
