Tonight I found that in Add/Remove Programs, I no longer see the "Change" or "Delete" buttons for any of my programmes. None of them! My programs appear in the list, and the list tells me how often I've used an application and when I last used it. But I have no way to remove or modify any program. I've never seen this problem before. Did try the following:_

Click Start, Run and type REGEDIT. This starts the Registry Editor. Navigate to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    \SOFTWARE
    \Microsoft
    \Windows
    \CurrentVersion
    \Uninstall
    \<Program Name>

Found this on site but I cannot get further than the 'Current Version bit as when I click 'Current Version' there is no 'Uninstall ' listed there.
Have also tried ' System Restore' that also did not work. I recently downloaded a programme on IE and ended up with the Bing Rewards Client Installer by mistake and have had a lot of unwanted ads etc. Do you think this may be the cause?

That is the right path. I've been using that navigational path since win XP Pro, Win 7 Ult, and even in win 8.1 Pro. Try it again it should be there.

Are you logged onto the machine as an Administrator? If not - try that.

Kellys-Korne has a possible solution for this problem listed at her website.

Try line 337 at the website listed below.

Logged on as administrator Steve but that still did not work.Tried Kelly-Korner site that still did not do it. I had to download an Avast update and found that when that showed in Add or Remove programmes that did have the ADD/REMOVE icon there but it still was the only one with it. Am now at a standstill !

Hi Snowdrop, Doing a Google, most point towards problem with AV software. What AV are you running? Neil.

BEFORE trying anything else do this:

Read this post, then post the requested log(s) in the Malware and Virus Removal forum.

Oop's sorry Tony did not realise I was breaking the rules. Have now posted this particular issue to Malware and Virus Removal as requested.
