Hi, How do I diagnose a video freeze problem?. When watching Youtube in a small window it works fine, video plays as it should. When I click Full Screen the video will play for a few seconds, then freeze and it won't start again until I move the mouse. The sound plays as normal without interruption. I am using a direct Ethernet connection to my router. The router is a new dual band ASUS router. I am running Windows 7 home. The computer is about a year old has 8GB of RAM, 1 terabyte hard drive. The problem also occurs when watching Isky programs from Sky.

Occurs only online? Backup your router config and reboot it (power cycle) Should clear the buffer and help with playback

I expect they both run on Adobe Flashplayer. You can uninstall Flashplayer and get the latest version from Adobe.

Hi I re-booted the router and it made no difference. After 3seconds to 11 seconds, video stops, a few seconds later, audio stops then nothing till I move the mouse. Any ideas?? I have the same issue with youtube, yes watching on-line.

What happens when you try playing videos from your hard drive?

And which browser are you using? Did you try another browser?

Did you update your video drivers?

Does the monitor's refresh rate match graphic cards setting?

Please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions!

Yes, it might seem to me that it may be having a problem changing the size to match your monitor. That may mean resolution (the resolution does not match the "shape" of the monitor). Like Arie said, try the "recommended" resolution, but if you don't like that, let me know what the recommended resolution is, and I can tell you some alternatives.

    Hi Arie,
The video and audio plays fine when playing a dvd from the hard drive. My browser is Mozilla Firefox and I have a problem with this. I played same Isky through Chrome and it worked fine no problems. The Video drivers are the latest, don't know about the refresh rates matching graphics card, but it used to work fine.

I find in watching a video and downloading at the same time, Video stops. In iPlayer. it freezes, then a circle is shown revolving until buffer is reloaded, then resumes screening.

So, you have your solution: Use Chrome!

Hi everyone, thanks for your ideas and suggestions, as Arie says I will just use Chrome.

    Kind regards

It does sound like a flash issue. Google Chrome includes flash in the browser, and will use that version whereas firefox relies on you downloading/installing a flash plugin.

I could be wrong, it was a while ago, but there seems to be different versions of Flashplayer being for different browsers. I had problems myself and had to find versions of Flashplasher and Firefox that would work with my other plug-ins. Maybe different...maybe the same problem.

Try unistalling Chrome, see if Firefox (with Flashplayer) works correctly then. [It's not hard to reinstall Chrome, oh, I think Flashplayer "update" installs it as default if you don't deselect it in the checkbox...] I am not a Google software fan, I have had bad experiences.
