Home network, Win7 two XP-PRO. Printeres physically attahed to one of the XP machines, all shared. Can't print from the Win7 machine. Try to install drivers on the Win7 PC and get a message 'printer must be installed on this machine.'

    HUH?

Did you turn on Network Discovery, File and Printer Sharing, and Public Folder Sharing on the W7 machine?

Being new to Win 7, I don't know where to do this. Assistance would be helpful.

You'll have to add a network printer. Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers > Add a Printer
