I get an error message "Error 7 Windows error 126. When I went to look up this error, I was advised to run a scan of my REGISTRY for errors. I did this with CC Cleaner as well as AVG PC Tuneup. After a cleanup, I ran their recommended REG cleaner ERROR End. It ran a scan and told me I had over 5500 errors. (I started to wonder how my PC was operating at all). I have run a complete uninstall of Itunes and associated applications as well as a registry check for any stray APPLE files. Still cannot get Itunes to install correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

I would be heading here if it was my computer to have my system checked for Malware in the first instance.

It is not recommended to be running registry cleaners as they rarely help and sometimes can wreck systems in my experience.

    regards,

See Apple's forum: itunes error 7 windows error 126

But by shooting yourself in the foot regarding registry cleaners, you may need to do a bit more to repair your Windows install.

Thank you for your comments regarding Registry Cleaners but I already knew those facts (even if I do use CC Cleaner once and a while). My computer is virus and malware checked each day, that's not my problem. My original question was regarding Itunes errors can you assist in that direction.

Arie's last post linked to a possible solution - have you evaluated that?

Okay. I went ahead and once again removed everything associated with Itunes for the 20th time as well as removing the application DiVix and shutting down my virus, malware, and firewall. Restarted and finally got it to work. Thanks for the help.

Why the remark about being courteous and posting a reply. That is exactly what I did. I am sorry if I cannot explain the reason why the problem cease to exist, I can only explain the process I went through and also added a thank you. Sorry about not closing the thread.

That's just a 'boilerplate' quote taken from our User Guide.
