I recently upgraded from IE7 to IE8. I am running WinXP SP3. Now when I get an email with a link in it , I cannot click on the link and get it to go to that website. I am using Outlook Express.

Can someone tell me what IE8 changed so I can change it back?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I had the same issue here which after research was fixed thankfully. The only difference seems I was running Windows 7 not windows 8.

    regards,

I am running SP3, it was a typing error.

I tried your link to MS and it did not fix the problem. I tried letting them fix it and fix it myself.

In fix it myself mode it would not register the dll 'mshtml.dll'. It said that the 'DllRegister Server entry point was not found'.

    Hi Daniel,

I am wondering if you tried my suggestion in post #3? It was such a simple fix for me and I had researched it for many weeks.

    best regards,

Yes I did but the compatibility mode was grayed out and said that it could not be set in this program because it is part of Windows XP.

I am running WinXP Pro SP3.
