I have for some time had this problem but now it must be sorted.
    Event Viewer displayed this msg.

"The description for Event ID ( 1 ) in Source ( VSGATE ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Socket connection to remote system failed.. "

I have no idea how to sort this.

    Thanks, Jules.

If you don't have any specific issues with the computer I wouldn't worry about what you find in even viewer. You could spend a lifetime trying to make event viewer look clean.

Removed the VAG program a week ago. No change in the pc, it still does strange things but nothing detrimental to whatever i´m working on. Maybe it´s time to replace the unit.

Or a backup of what you want and a CLEAN INSTALL of the OS. Works wonders.

The thought crossed my mind but i envisioned the time involved sorting what is needed and what can be deleted. But your probably right so better get used to the idea.
    Thanks.
