Resolved Word leaves a bunch of cyber junk on the page

    I had XP, now have W-7.

    So when I try to write a letter, and open a blank page of my MS Word, I get all this junk on the page.
    Anybody know what I can do about it?:)

    You screen shot shows Wordpad, not Word, is trying to open the file.

    That means the file is not in a format Wordpad, which is a rather limited word processor, can handle.

    Try opening the same file in Word.

    No, Word does not come packaged with Windows. It has to be purchased separately although many computer manufacturers offer a deal on the price and install it for you before shipping...if you pay for it, that is.

    Wordpad and Notepad do come with Windows.

    I found MS Word. A big blue "W" in a Box. It's clean when I open it.

    Admin, I did reply showing I found the "Real " word program.

    What I apparently had was a very old "Word Pad" program.

    MIZ put me onto the right track.
    THanks MIZ.
    PS: In all that monkeying around I lost my Bear story. Long effort with no results.
