Slow boot, slow loading programs

Hi, I have a laptop that takes 10 minutes to bootup and 3-5 minutes to load up a program. Can anyone recommend any freeware that will list for me the programs not only at bootup but when I load a program. It should name the program AND have a time from start of program load to finish along with any processes it needs to do at bootup/program load. Then I can look and see where the system is getting stalled.

 

While not wishing to contradict what Tony suggests, I'd first make sure that you don't have more than one AntiVirus program installed.

Crippling slowness can often be the result of having more than one AV program installed.
