    Welcome to WindowsBBS;)

Windows 32 bit like you have can only use 3 to about 3.5 gigs of ram. There is nothing you can do to change that.

Have to monitors your system to determine if you're maxing out the current 2 gigs? I have 2 gigs with XP and am currently using less that half of that. Adding more wouldn't help anything.

Hi jixsonn, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

If your motherboard supports 4 GB of DDR2 RAM then yes the system should work fine.

There won't be any problems with the machine if you have a total of 4 GB of RAM installed. 32-bit Operating Systems just won't be able to use all 4 GB of RAM.

If you are not sure if your motherboard supports 4 GB of RAM then download and run the Crucial System Scanner.

Also please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions.

Note: A common error is to forget to show your System Details in your profile:

Make sure to do the above when entering your System Details, thanks.
