I have a Dell desktop with Windows Vista. I turn my computer on and the monitor states "going in to power saver modeâ€. It then tells me there is no input coming from my computer and suggest pressing the "input button" and use the mouse or keyboard to wake the computer. I have tried multiple times at turning the computer on and off with no success. Neither my keyboard or mouse are responding. My monitor remains black and I hear the humming of the computer. Can someone direct me as to what to do next? My warranty is expired and I would prefer to troubleshhot on my own before dragging it into a service/repair store…HELP!!!

Hi kjroane, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

Does the dell computer have a dedicated video card or does it use integrated video?

If the monitor is plugged into a dedicated video card try plugging it into the integrated video port on the motherboard if its available. Have you confirmed that the monitor is good?

Hi babatunde. I know you may have a similar problem as the original poster but it would be best if you started your own thread so you get more attention.

It can be confusing trying to help more than one person in the same thread with a similar problem. Please create a new thread in the appropriate forum. Thanks.
