Hi dfwc, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

Download and run Autoruns. After you download the zipped folder on your desktop, right click the zipped folder and click Extract All. After the folder has been extracted open the regular folder. Run the autoruns.exe program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as Administrator. When you open the program click the Logon Tab and then highlight and remove the performance LLC program that is present in the list. You can also remove any other entries that you no longer want to start up with Windows 7.

Also please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions.

Note: A common error is to forget to show your System Details in your profile:

Make sure to do the above when entering your System Details, thanks.

Evan Omo, you mention "Autoruns ", I installed this software sometime agao and it certainly works. However, I am probably wrong, the installed Autoruns can not or unable to be removed as it appears to become part of Windows 7.

It only removes the icon, not the software installation.

Your first post, you stated you wanted to remove the Icon from the start up, not remove the program. If you want to remove the program completely, I recommend using Revo Uninstaller which is FREE. Part way down the page is the FREE one on the left of the 2. When you use it, I suggest going with the Advance choice and also remove all the Registry items associated with it.

That is incorrect. You can remove the Autoruns program. The Autoruns program does not require an installer. Its portable and is run from the Autoruns folder that you downloaded. Just right click on the Autoruns folder and delete it if you no longer want it on your computer.
