I recently did an update and my computer would freeze completely upon logging on. I tried multiple times to use different restore points and I could only log on successfully using Safe Mode. I opened msconfig and logged on without start up programs and I could then use the computer. I logged off multiple times and finished multiple updates.

Now I have no access to my USB (nothing registers when plugged in) and my audio codec is gone (no audio output device is installed/a recent hardware change may have occurred. I have attempted to reinstall the codec with no success.

    Any advice?

You can go to Device Manager and uninstall all the listings under Universal Serial Bus Controllers (don't be afraid, they don't work now ). They will be automatically reinstalled when you restart.

Please enter your System Details. If you want us to help you find the drivers, you will need to do this.

You should find the drivers at your computer (motherboard) manufacturer's website. Some manufacturers provide the original drivers on a CD or they might have them on the hard disk somewhere. Manufacturers like HP, Dell etc., will tell you where to find the original drivers in their information Check in Start -> All Programs.

There is no tree in Device Manager with USB.

And I updated my system specs the best I could.

Well done posting the system specs.

It is too late here to research.

Check if you can see where the original drivers might be stored like I suggested, also go to the Toshiba website and try checking what drivers they offer.
