Resolved copying windows control files to another HDD

A Trojan destroyed my file control files from my master
disk. It boots but doesn't recognize any files except the
recycle bin. I have an old drive that I am using as my
master now and I am using the bad drive as a slave
and all of the files are there. I would like to recover the
file handling files to the bad drive but I don't which ones
to copy. Help please.DPI

 

Not sure what you mean by "file control files" and "file handling files ". Can you explain a bit more?

 

Iam not sure what to call them my self. I just know that it doesn't recognize any files unless I go thru explore then I can get to them. I can say this all happened at the same time that Essentials poped up with a found trojan. DPI

 

Who's "explore" program? Windows Explorer?

 

I found a work around. I was able to run a system restore from back before the trojan arrived and Iam up and running again. Still don't know what happened but it's working again. Thanks for the help. DPI

 

I ran malwarebytes and have no malware or viruses. I also changed out the disk drive that had a caution on it and everything appears to be running OK. DPI.
