Resolved Microsoft Security Essentials not install.

I can no longer find on my computer MSE, downloads carry out normally, no trace can be found in computer, though Revo Uninstaller shows that MSE is noted as installed.

 

Try uninstalling it with Revo and see if it will. Then reinstall it.

 

On an XP OS it is listed in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel as "Microsoft Security Essentials" and in Windows Explorer it is listed as "Microsoft Security Client" under Program Files.

On a Windows 7 OS, it is listed as "Microsoft Security Essentials" in the Control Panel under "Programs/uninstall" and listed in the Windows Explorer as "Microsoft Security Client" under Program Files.

If it is still listed in those locations on your computer it is still installed and you may have somehow lost the desktop and system tray.

 

Thank you all for assistance given. Out of the blue, MSE appeared on the Desktop screen and is working properly. My computer at the moment is just playing up.
