I just installed a new Graphics Card and Power Supply and was going to go into BIOS to ensure the onboard graphics was disabled and noticed the drives are shown in spots 3 and 4 and not 1 and 2. I checked the cables on the MB and they are plugged in to 0 and 1.

It is possible the locations have been this way since I bought the PC since I had no real need to access the BIOS until now.

    Any ideas?

    Mitch

Hi Mitch. Yes its quite possible that the BIOS settings for your drives have been that way since you bought the machine.

If everything is working perfectly then I would not worry about changing the drive locations in your BIOS.

Is your computer having any issues?

Thanks Evan. Nothing to write home about and clearly not related to the BIOS issue.

I have been having some recent difficulties with Windows Update. I get a notification that Windows Update could not check of updates and when I check for updates I get a message to restart my computer to finish installing updates.

I ran TFC and thought it fixed the problem but it returned. This just started happening after the install of the Graphics Card and Power Supply though.

I was going to post the issue if it returned - and it did.....

    No Problem. :)

Since this thread is resolved and you stated that you are having difficulties with installing Windows Updates, go ahead and start a new thread in the Windows 7 forum so you can get more assistance with getting that problem resolved.
