For the past two weeks an online game I play locks up my computer after a while playing it and the Event Viewer shows these errors in the following logs:

    ---
    Application log:

    1- Warning:
Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards.

    2- Error:
Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

    3- Warning:
    Certificate for local system with Thumbprint 4e 7c 54 42 2a 43 1a db de 20 36 77 0e b2 fa 58 fb 58 cd 44 is about to expire or already expired.
    ---

    System log:

    1- Error:
Task Scheduler service failed to load tasks at service startup. Additional Data: Error Value: 2147549183.

    2- Error:
Task Scheduler service failed to load tasks at service startup. Additional Data: Error Value: 2147549183.

What do these errors imply? I've looked them up on the net but can't get a definitive answer as to what they mean.

    thx,
    m.

    Ok, seems that after removing:
    -Ask Toolbar
    -Ask Toolbar Updater

.. as suggested the problem has gone away, although no definite indication they were the instigators. I also found out later there were some problems on the phone line because of storms we had had earlier.

Not sure how these 'Ask' sw got installed though .. dang foistware.

    Thanks for the help!
