    I need to make a JPEG of minimum 224 X 300 pixels.

I have taken a still photo on a Canon XA10 video camera using a Transcend (Ricoh) 32 GB SDHC card.

I am using Windows 7 and have whatever photo editing software that was included.

Included is Windows Media Viewer and Adobe PhotoShop Elements.

    Any assistance appreciated.

If you have no other editing software, then use Windows Paint. Open the picture in Paint, select Resize and adjust accordingly. Save as a jpg.

this is for a press i.d. picture.

in another part of the instructions from the media association for taking the picture it says it must have at least 224 X 300 dpi. This appears to be the same as the pixel specs they gave.

I am assuming a pixel figure refers to the physical size of the image rather than a resolution.

On my Sony Desktop computer screen (Winows XP) the image of 224 pixels wide by 300 pixels high comes to about 2-3/4 " wide by 3-3/4" high.

On this computer (the Windows XP machine) I have Arcsoft PhotoStudio (bundled with a Canon scanner), which enabled me to set the proper minimum pixels. But it squeezed the rectangle making the image taller and thinner than natural.

However, if 224 X 300 pixel is a minimum than I can allow more pixels in the width to make the image more natural.

I am not finding a resize in Paint.

In attributes I doubled the pixels but it just increased the white space not the picture itself.

Yes, I can use either XP or 7. The Windows 7 is set up to download stills from the Canon XA10 video camera, while XP is set up to handle photos from my Olympus still camera. I can transfer photos from either (hopefully) with flash drives. The Olympus takes better still pictures than the Canon.

I am unable to find hump on the page you referenced. Am I missing something>

I have found that software that came with a Canon flatbed scanner (ArcSoft) and HP software that came with the an HP printer can do this job. 224 X 300 only refers to size not resolution I have found out.

    Thank you for your help.
