My computer can see the network, but this error comes up everytime I try to access the Internet:

'Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings.'

Any help would be of great help.

    Thank you,

    Wil

Power down the Modem, router and the PC. Power on the Modem and give it a minute to settle down. Then do the same with the Router. Then turn on your PC.

If this is a home network, then no need to use a proxy. Some malware will change the Internet connection settings to use a proxy server and after the malware is removes the proxy connection settings remain.

Go to Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN settings and uncheck everything on that page.

This is a Home network, no proxy needed.

Everything is unchecked in LAN settings.

There's a good possibility that you have malware on your computer. The message "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings" should only be given when networking is set to use a proxy server.

Read this post, then post the requested log(s) in the Malware and Virus Removal forum.
