Resolved Can not connect to any Microsoft update

I can not update windows or MSE(security essentials). I tried safe mode and downloading Malwarebytes but I keep getting an error when I try to run it. Somthing about folder '53'. It also will not let me turn on or update MSE.

 

Could well be some malware.

cannot run malwarebytes

I looked at the Malware forum and followed the directions about Malware bytes I renamed Malwarebytes.exe to scanner.exe and it would not let me run it. I got the error...(Run-time error "53" File not found: shfolder) Updating Microsoft Essentials failed about a third of the way, pauses and times out and gives a timed out error. Also how do I move my thread to the Malware/virus forum? Thanks

 

Sorry, I have been extremely busy. I had to re-install windows on both machines. So I will try to mark this closed.
