    I have just downloaded a programme containing 375,865Kb.
    I have a new HD with 863 GB free
    I am informed, when I try to open the downloaded programme to try and install it, that there is not enough room to load the programme.
    Would someone please explain where the programme is trying to be opened and how I may direct the opening so that the programme will be opened where there is sufficient room?
    I feel a bit mystified!

    Thanks for any input,

    Colin:confused:

    It's probably trying to install on the C drive... How much free space do you have on it?

    Forgot system details - sorry - added herewith!
    W7 Home Premium + SP 1; Firefox 7.0.1; AVG 2011 Free; Adaware;
    ------------------------------------------

    Thank you for your reply, Steve R Jones.

    As I stated in my question, my C drive is my newly installed HD and has 863 GB of free space.
    My E drive, which was my old HD has 92.8 GB of free space.
    This is why I made the enquiry as to WHERE the programme, of 375,865 Kb which I reckon is nearly 46 MB, would try to be opened, there being sufficient room on either HD.

    Thanks

    Colin

    How old is the program you're trying to install? If it's really old, it may not be able to recognize the amount of free space on today's large drives.

    Are you sure the program is written to run on Windows? If it was written to run on say a Mac, or Linux, etc., it won't work on a Windows box.
