I am operating windows XP Professional.
I have been getting the same "updates which require installing" message for weeks now. I instal the updates, the pc accepts them, but when it is rebooted next the same updates notifications are there asking for them to be updated and installed.
A couple of times (not every time) I have had a message saying that my windows update has a problem.
Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

    Hi Jerry,

Have a read of Windows Update Problems and let us know your findings. Also it would be really useful to know what service pack you have installed.

Please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions!

    Hi wildfire,ty for your response.

Service pack 3 is installed on the PC.

I have renamed the CatRoot2 folder to CatRoot2OLD, and am in the process of downloading and installing the updates once more.

I shall let you know if it has been successful asap.
